Week of April 26, 2020

Indivisible actions are ramping up as we approach the 2020 Presidential election and respond to the coronavirus. Here are four to be aware of this week:

1) Demand safe and secure elections: People have been speaking out for a while about the danger that insecure elections pose to democracy. The coronavirus has reinforced these fears. Click here to see how to help by calling our two Senators: https://indivisible.org/demand-your-senators-ensure-safe-secure-elections-during-covid-19-outbreak.

2) Demand support for people, not corporations: The news reports are starting to indicate that bailout money around the world has led to corruption, including in the United States (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/coronavirus-corruption-colombia-argentina-romania-bangladesh/2020/04/26/c88a9a44-8007-11ea-84c2-0792d8591911_story.html). Call our Members of Congress and ask that they support People Over Profits: https://peopleoverprofits.indivisible.org.

3) Register for Indivisible National Call on May 7: Indivisible has been having monthly activist phone calls. The next one is May 7 at 8 pm. Please register here: https://indivisible.zoom.us/webinar/register/2915858534333/WN_lInkNelPTCG27QT6SELk4g.

4) Write letters to voters: In this time of social distancing, we are not able to do the canvassing that many of us would have wanted. The good news is that you can reach out to voters through Indivisible’s VOTEFWD tool. Sign up here: https://indivisible.org/resource/write-letters-voters-votefwd.
