Week of May 31, 2020

This week, our calls to action are entirely about having solidarity with Minneapolis and with people of color across this country. Indivisible has compiled a list of actions here: https://indivisible.org/resource/taking-action-solidarity-minneapolis.

Those actions include:

  • Making targeted donations to groups supporting black activists, community building, medical treatment, media coverage, and George Floyd’s family
  • Educating yourself on how to be an anti-racist- Calling on our Members of Congress to condemn police violence, including co-sponsoring a House resolution from Reps. Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley
  • Calling to demand justice for George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery

Indivisible also has a June National Activist Call on Thursday, June 4, at 8 pm. I’m sure some of this will be discussed. You can register here: https://indivisible.zoom.us/webinar/register/2215886820592/WN_scjpnKtUSWWkvyNXepapwQ

Finally, Hunterdon Democrats are organizing a protest in Flemington for the near future. Stay tuned for details, which will be posted on our Facebook page.

Quote of the week: “No justice, no peace.”
