1) IGSV Leadership Council Nominations: Our IGSV Bylaws indicate that we need to establish a Leadership Council of three people: a Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary/Administrator. You can read the descriptions in our bylaws here: http://www.indivisiblegsv.org/bylaws/. Until our first regular election in January 2022, nominations to temporarily fill these positions are being sought, with an election to be held in June or July. A survey for the nominations is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KW5TQQW. You may self-nominate or nominate someone else. Please include contact information for the person or people you are nominating so that we can follow up with them to see if they would want the position. Thank you in advance for helping to staff our IGSV leadership!
2) Push back on anti-Malinowski propaganda: The Associated Press this week published a story implying that Congressman Malinowski improperly traded stocks related to the pandemic, but acknowledged no evidence of any wrong-doing. Nevertheless, this may become an issue in 2022. Read his official response here: https://malinowski.house.gov/media/press-releases/correcting-record-representative-malinowski-responds-ap-coverage. Then prepare to push back against any allegations of profiteering.
3) Support the LD23 Challengers: There is a great slate of candidates for State Assembly and Senate in LD23. If you are on Facebook, please help support Hope Kaufman and Nick LaBelle for Assembly by liking their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/hopeandnickld23/. You can learn about Senate candidate Denise King here: https://www.washborodems.org/2021/05/Introducing-Denise-King-For-New-Jersey-Senate.html. Consider canvassing and donating to help them out!
4) Monthly Indivisible Activist Call: Indivisible has monthly activist calls via Zoom to give Indivisible group leaders and members updates on priority actions that they recommend and other resources that we can use. The next call is June 3 at 8 pm ET. Please register here if you are interested: https://indivisible.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_bqMa1wE4QyS2HH2OR6Aoig

Quote of the week: “[Kevin] McCarthy has long done whatever it takes to get what he wants. And what he really, really wants now is the speaker’s gavel, which hovers just a few precious seats beyond his grasp. If Mitch McConnell, the ruthless, calculating Senate Republican leader, is a shark, Mr. McCarthy is a jellyfish, carried spinelessly along by the political currents.” – Michelle Cottle, https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/23/opinion/kevin-mccarthy-trump-republicans.html
