1) 2020 Census Volunteering: The 2020 Census is operating collaboratively across organizational types with the objective of increasing the response rate across the nation. Hunterdon County has been working diligently to ensure our local, hard-to-count areas are not forgotten. As discussed at our last IGSV meeting, they are looking for volunteers to make sure everyone in Hunterdon County is counted.United Way of Hunterdon County will be hosting 4 training sessions in March for Census Support Volunteers, equipping attendees to respond to questions as it pertains to confidentiality and how to operate tablets for Census completion. The first one is tomorrow, March 2! All sessions will be held in the United Way building on 4 Walter Foran Blvd, Suite 401 in Flemington, 08822. 2) 2020 Congressional Election: It’s time to start working toward reelecting Congressman Malinowski! This Wednesday, March 4, from 5-8 pm, Joyce and Stephen Leftly will be hosting dinner and a phone bank to call his supporters across the district. 3) IGSV March Meeting and Walk/Run: This month, we will combine our monthly walk/run with our monthly IGSV meeting to give everyone a chance to commune with nature and with each other along the spectacular Columbia Trail. We will gather at 10 am for a few quick words of inspiration, and then head down the trail at whatever pace and distance works for you. Back at the parking lot after, we’ll have snacks and coffee. Please bring something to share and picnic chairs/blankets if you are so inclined. If the weather is particularly good, there will be some picnic games as well. It will be a great way to celebrate the official start of spring along with fellow Resisters! All are welcome, including children of all ages, regardless of your walking/running pace. 4) 2020 Presidential Election: This week will see the most important day yet of the Presidential primary season: Super Tuesday. Donate, speak out, and volunteer for a campaign ASAP to have an impact!
